My aim
My aim is to help you develop a sense of security and trust in yourself and in our work together. I have found that this is essential for people whose sense of themselves and the world has been effected adverse events and trauma.
What to expect
For weekly sessions, the first few meetings are spent understanding what brought you to therapy, your background, and what you would like to gain from the therapy. From here we make a plan of how to go forward, holding in mind that everyone is different, you can expect between 6-20 sessions. We will review our sessions frequently to ensure we are on track towards your goals and you are benefitting from the process. In our time together you will become an expert on your difficulties and learn how to manage and overcome them. I use a variety of approaches including CBT, EMDR, psychodynamic, and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
My goal is that over time you will become your own therapist. This means that you will better understand your difficulties, where they come from, what keeps them going, and how you can change things to improve your wellbeing. My hope is that you will develop a sense of control and agency, so you can get back to living your life. Contact me for more information...>>
